Where is The Fortune Hotel Filmed?

The fabulous and intriguing TV show presented by Stephen Mangan is back on UK TV for its second series. If you are wondering when and where this was filmed keep on reading. I wanted to know how much a 10 day stay there would be and what it would be like to holiday there.

The Fortune Hotel Location

As you know I live in Granada, Spain. I am happy to share details about this years location of this treasure hunters TV show as it helps with a disambiguation. The setting is the stunning island of Grenada. Note the letter E. This is important as some travellers (and some of my parcels) have been mixed up between Andalusia and the Caribbean. This is actually a more common mistake than you may think.

The Hotel is set on the coastline of the capital Saint George’s on the Island of Grenada

One detail that really stands out at this resort is the long swimming pool at the centre of the property. This is the longest pool in the Caribbean. See it on the header photo above. Can you believe that its 100 metres long? (that´s 4 standard swimming pools in one!)

This resort is a 5 star hotel and highly rated by guests. Reviews are 9.6 on booking currently and 4.7 Silversands on Trip Advisor. So it seems that you are guaranteed an idyllic stay there. The nearest airport is: Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND).  (Connection in Miami)

What to See + Do on the Island of Grenada

There are plenty of activities and tours in Grenada to enjoy. Find things to do linked to Rum production, the spice trade and a variety of water sports. As Grenada has an interesting past with French colonisation and has fabulous chocolate made on the island, there will be a Grenada day out that you will have fun planning for ahead of your trip.

How much does the Fortune Hotel cost?

You can find pricing at this link: Silversands Grenada Resort of course it varies according to length of stay and the season. The filming of the Fortune Hotel was done in November. A month that has quite stable weather and nice temperatures around 30C. June to August is the rainy season, so not the best time to travel there. March and April are the peak season and will ensure the best weather for your stay.

If you want to travel to Grenada and the Saint Georges area you can find other accommodation that might work better if you have a budget to stick to.
