You may remember earlier this year I ran a giveaway to win a guidebook Walking in Andalucia. Well just in August a brand new guidebook all about Andalucia has been published and I´ve been sent one copy. This new book Coastal Walks in Andalucia was just released and I have a copy hot of the press to offer to my readers in a prize draw.
Written by Guy Hunter Watts this book includes tips on where to stay and information of the landscapes along the routes. The guide is full of maps and colour photos too. Amongst it´s 262 pages, 40 coastal walks are documented in Andalusia.
Details of the distances, average timings and other useful information is carefully explained. The summary on the first page of each hike shows the difficulty and incline.
Seven national parks are featured, explantions of the local plants and wildlife are mentioned throughout. At the back to the book there are a few pages with a glossary of useful spanish words (arroyo, lavadero, etc) This handy guidebook offers useful information for hikers in Andalusia.
Some of the routes are around my favourite places in the region. Cabo de Gata in Almeria province, the beautiful coastline of Cadiz or the routes along pathways of the Costa del Sol through pretty Frigiliana and Maro.

Should you ever fancy a guided walk in my neck of the woods – that’s the Grazalema Natural Park – do give a shout.
I’m currently working on a new guide for Cicerone, The Mountains of Ronda and Grazalema.
We’ll let you know once it’s published.
Many thanks for stopping by
Thats a lovely idea, I haven´t visited Grazalema N.P before but it´s on the list.
There are few areas of Andalucia that I have left to discover so I may take you up on that kind offer sometime.
Keep up the good work
